Hines Ward waves along with children of mixed racial origin during their meeting in Seoul, Korea

"I know you guys go through a great deal of hardship with prejudice and having people discriminating against you."

Hines Ward, Super Bowl Most Valuable Player said during a "hope-sharing" meeting with multiracial Korean children in 2006 that if the country can accept him for being a Korean, he is pretty sure that it can change and accept them for what they are. Ward, a Korean-American of mixed race, announced creation of a foundation to help mixed-race children in South Korea, donating $1 million of his own money. (© AP images)
