1992 - Ang Lee directs his first feature
Ang Lee studied theatre and film arts in both his native Taiwan and the United States before directing his first film, Pushing Hands, in 1992. His first three films explored cultural and generational conflicts in Taiwan. Thereafter, he entered the Hollywood mainstream with such films as Sense and Sensibility, The Ice Storm, Ride with the Devil and Brokeback Mountain. (© AP Images)
