Washington-based graffiti artists Tim Conlon and Dave Hupp, who work as a team, created four large murals for the National Portrait Gallery exhibition “RECOGNIZE! Hip Hop and Contemporary Portraiture.” Known for their lettering technique, color combinations and patterning, the duo has adopted a 1980s graffiti style that pays homage to their predecessors.
