79 percent are employed in service industries
U.S. workers are more likely to provide services than build or farm. Approximately 79 percent work in service industries such as utilities, trade, transportation, finance, education, health care, law, hospitality and government; 13 percent are employed in goods-producing sectors such as mining, construction and manufacturing; and slightly more than 1 percent make their living in agriculture, forestry or fishing.
