1945 - CARE Established

CARE, which would become one of the world’s largest private international humanitarian organizations, is formed to provide relief to survivors of World War II. CARE’s efforts eventually will expand to delivering emergency aid to survivors of war and natural disasters, and helping people rebuild their lives. (Library of Congress)
