 The Marshall Plan -- A 60-Year Legacy

Burgundy, France, prune grape vines

(Top) In the late 1940s, workers in Burgundy, France, prune grape vines sprayed with a copper-sulfate lime mixture provided by Marshall Plan funds. The Marshall Plan focused on investing in agriculture and industry. For example, tens of thousands of American tractors were delivered across Europe from 1948 to 1952. Of the $13 billion in Marshall Plan funds, $3.4 billion was spent on raw materials and semi-manufactured products; $3.2 billion on food, feed and fertilizer; $1.9 billion on machines, vehicles and equipment; and $1.6 billion on fuel.
