U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission Douglas Silliman opened the U.S. Embassy-sponsored exhibit of Native American art by Jno Didrickson, February 17 at the Turkish American Association in Ankara. The exhibit features Pacific Northwest Coast wood carvings, metalwork, and beadwork made by Mr. Didrickson, who is an Alaskan Tlingit artist. Also featured is a photo exhibition depicting Alaska’s wildlife and natural beauty, and as well as a documentary film about the artist’s work and the Tlingit culture. The exhibit will be open to the public at the Turkish American Association from February 17-28.
