Born in New York and currently living and working in the Bay Area, Amy Kaufman's works are abstractions based upon organic forms. Her imagery evolves from the patterns of a pared down landscape—rows within a field, roots of a tree knotted together, levels of color on a horizon. Kaufman is interested in exploring variations that occur within the limits that she sets in materials, size and colors.
