In honor of 175 Years of U.S. –Thai Friendship, American jazz singer Janice Harrington conducted three workshops that the U.S. Embassy in Thailand co-hosted with Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, and Silpakorn University. The three workshops were held from June 18 through June 20, 2008. Janice Harrington introduced students to various jazz and blues techniques and encouraged them to participate actively in the workshops. As musical ambassadors, Janice Harrington and the university students brought smiles to each others’ faces.

เนื่องในโอกาสครบรอบ 175 ปีความสัมพันธ์ไทย-สหรัฐฯ ในปีนี้ แจนิส แฮริงตัน นักร้องเพลงแจ๊สชาวอเมริกันได้จัดเวิร์คชอพสามครั้ง ระหว่างวันที่ 18-20 มิถุนายน โดยมีสถานทูตสหรัฐฯ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล และมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากรเป็นเจ้าภาพ แจนิสได้สอนเทคนิคการร้องเพลงแจ๊สและเพลงบลูส์แบบต่างๆ และเชิญชวนให้นักศึกษาเข้าร่วมเวิร์คชอพด้วย แจนิสและนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยซึ่งเปรียบเสมือนทูตสันถวไมตรีทางดนตรีได้สร้างรอยยิ้มให้แก่กันและกัน
