Photographs from Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Exhibition and Programs held in Colombo, Oluvil, Batticaloa and Jaffna.<br /><br />US Embassy in Colombo in collaboration with Foundation for Co-Existence commemorated Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (a US national holiday held this year on January 18) by staging an exhibition and programs on the intertwined legacies of Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi during February and March 2010.<br /><br />The exhibition was held in Colombo and moved to Ampara, Batticaloa, and Jaffna.<br /><br />The exhibition itself included historic photographs, audio clips, films, and texts that describe King’s relation to Gandhi, the March on Washington, and Dr. King’s ongoing legacy around the world and in the US.
