Minister of Defense Bogdan Klich flew in one of the new Polish F-16s on Wednesday, November 28 out of Krzesiny Air Base near Poznan. The jet was piloted by Major Cezary Wisniewski. Klich was accompanied by the commander of the Polish Air Force, Lt. General Andrzej Blasik, where they inspected the F-16 planes and received in-depth program status briefings while examining the many new, state-of-the art base facilities. Minister Klich flew in the F-16 for 30 minutes, and later flew participated in a simulation fight. The Minister commented that he, "went to Krzesiny because, among other reasons, there was a good deal of doubts recently about whether the F-16s that come to Poland are in proper condition." The Minister recalled that seven years ago he took part in preparations for the modernization of military airfields in his capacity as Deputy Defense Minister. "Now we can see the results of the modernization program, and one can say the Krzesiny base has one of the most advanced air fields in Europe," he stated.
