Interceptor missile launch

On Sept. 28, 2007, the operationally configured interceptor was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, and successfully intercepted a long-range target launched from Kodiak, Alaska. The launch was part of the flight test program for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense program.
