U.S. Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe called on the Voivode of Szczecin, Marcin Zydorowicz, on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, as part of his visit to the region Zachodniopomorskie. He also met with Mayor of Szczecin Piotr Krzystek, before departing with Defense Attache Colonel Richard Runner to visit the nearby 12th Mechanized Division. At the military base the Ambassador was presented a slide show on the unit, with special emphasis on deployment, and visited the museum where he learned of the brigade's patron, General Haller.
