U.S. Ambassador Visits Novosibirsk. On May 18, 2006, Ambassador Bill Burns made his first trip to Novosibirsk since taking up his post. The visit was the Ambassador's first to Siberia, and one of a series of trips that he is making to cities and regions outside of Moscow. During his visit, the Ambassador met with Novosibirsk Polpred Anatoliy Kvashnin and Governor Viktor Tolokonskiy. The Ambassador also met with Novosibirsk Mayor Vladimir Gorodetskiy. On the occasion of the 49th Anniversary of the founding of Akadem Gorodok, the Ambassador participated in a roundtable meeting with Novosibirsk State University's Rector Nikolay Sergeyevich Dikanskiy, scientists from Akadem Gorodok, and leaders of Techno Park.
