The American Corner in Podgorica hosted Michael Frazier, Professor of Political Science at Howard University, Washington, D.C. who is in Montenegro on a U.S. Embassy sponsored Speaker Program. Professor Frazier gave a presentation to students and others on Diversity and Multiculturalism in America. Professor Frazier talked about core American values and how the U.S. is able to achieve unity in the context of a multicultural society. The focus of his lecture was on the history of African-Americans in the US. and how their long road of struggle paved the way for President Obama’s historical election.
Professor Frazier is an internationally recognized scholar who has taught, lectured, and published on topics related to African-American Studies and diversity for over ten years
On February 28, the U.S. Embassy and its local partners NGO “New Horizon” and Centre for Culture organized in Ulcinj a lecture on “Ethnic / Cultural Diversity in the U.S.- Election of Barack Obama” by Professor Michael Frazier of Howard University, as a part of its program for Black History Month. The lecture was held in the town library, attended by local officials NGOs, professors, students, and the media.
