In celebration of the eighty-fifth anniversary of Lithuanian-U.S. diplomatic relations, the U.S. Embassy and the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry co-hosted a commemorative event on July 26. In his keynote address, President Adamkus cited the long years of friendship and shared values between Lithuania and the United States. U.S. Ambassador Cloud praised the uninterrupted history of human ties and friendship between the Lithuanian and American people. The event was held at the Historic Presidential Palace in Kaunas, the site of the first U.S. diplomatic mission to Lithuania.
