On October 13 Ambassador Victor Ashe visited the 10th Opole Logistic Support Brigade where he met with the Brigade’s Commander Colonel Jacek Mroczek to express gratitude for the Brigade’s participation in the recently completed Polish mission in Iraq and for its continuing support of the Polish mission in Afghanistan. Ambassador Ashe recognized the great sacrifices that Polish forces have made for the cause of freedom in Iraq and Afghanistan, emphasizing the fact that the Polish people can take pride in a job well done. He also underlined that by November of this year the number of Polish troops in Afghanistan will reach 1,600. During his visit to the 10th Logistic Brigade, Ambassador Ashe also signed the Brigade’s memory book and toured its Opole headquarters.
Following the visit to the 10th Brigade, the Ambassador visited castles in Rogów Opolski and Moszna and then went on to Biała where he met with Mayor Arnold Hindera. Next, Ambassador Ashe went to Prudnik where he met Mayor Franciszek Frejdych and then to Kędzierzyn-Koźle where he met Mayor Wiesław Fąfara.
