USS Donald Cook Port Visit, July 25, 2007 - Istanbul
 
During a port visit to Istanbul by the US Navy Guided Missile Destroyer USS Donald Cook, the Cook's Captain, Commander William J. Parker III, hosted a reception July 25 for representatives of Turkish government, business, media and academia. Dignitaries including Task Force Commander Commodore George (Chip) Walter, Commander Parker and U.S. Ambassador Ross Wilson made remarks on the importance of U.S. Turkish friendship, the high level of cooperation between the U.S. and Turkish navies and the beauties of Istanbul. On July 26 a small group of working press received a guided tour of the Cook.
