Consul General Sharon Wiener addressed over 400 student delegates from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, Germany and Russia as the keynote speaker at the opening of the International Model UN Conference held at Robert College. The theme of this year's Conference was "Global Partnerships: Forging Links Between Nations". The Consul General gave her remarks on the history of U.S.-UN relations and U.S. policy related to the UN to a group of young leaders interested in international affairs. The Consul General took the opportunity to engage with the students on other international issues and share her personal experiences as an American diplomat who has witnessed important world events firsthand.
