Rani Hong, who was kidnapped and trafficked as a child in South India, spoke at the American Center on the evils of human trafficking, September 22, 2009. Now a U.S. citizen and co-founder of the Tronie Foundation, which provides worldwide restoration of victims of trafficking, Rani shared her emotional story with an audience of students and NGO professionals. She was joined by Sameer Sheth, U.S. Embassy political officer, who discussed U.S. Government efforts to combat trafficking in India, and Anuradha Mukherjee, South Asia Regional Officer for Anti-Trafficking, UNIFEM.
