On May 29, 2009, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and India's National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR) signed the Limited Scope Grant Agreement in New Delhi. Seen in the photo is U.S. Embassy's Deputy Chief of Mission Steven J. White presenting the grant check to NIMR director, Dr. Virendra Kumar Dua. Global malaria control is a priority for the U.S. government. With this grant, NIMR will initiate a national consultation on malaria elimination.
