On June 30, 2007, the Ernst-Schering Oberschule from the Wedding district of Berlin presented the gala performance of the PluralArts International Musical production "The Streets of Wedding" at the Atze Theater- und Konzerthaus. The project took place under the patronage of U.S. Ambassador William R. Timken, Jr., and his wife Sue Timken. At the invitation of the patrons, German Federal President Horst Köhler and his wife as well as Interior Minister Wolfgang Schäuble and his wife attended the event, which was moderated by Marjan Parvand from N24 television. "The Streets of Wedding," a multi-lingual theatrical collaboration between PluralArts International, New York, and the students of the Ernst-Schering Oberschule in the Wedding district of Berlin, features a wide variety of musical and dance styles and is a lively examination of life in Wedding as seen through the eyes of its young residents. Hailing from some 27 countries, approximately 80 percent of the participants in the musical are of non-German heritage.
