Consul General Karen E. Johnson hosted a reception for senior staff members of the Hamburg Police on Patriot Day. Subsequent to 9/11 the Hamburg Police Association collected donations and organized visits to Hamburg for members and relatives of victims of the New York emergency organizations. In total, three visitor groups came to Hamburg in 2003 and 2004 and many long lasting friendships developed from this act of concrete solidarity. Consul General Johnson in her remarks thanked the police representatives for their support and looked forward to continuous exchange.
