DCM John Koenig gave the keynote address at the award ceremony of the AGBC Berlin’s second annual high school business plan competition. The American German Business Club (AGBC) Berlin is an English-speaking professional and business club. In the fall of 2005, the club inaugurated a city-wide high school business plan competition. In 2006-07, applications from interested schools more than doubled and public high schools from all neighborhoods of Berlin participated. The winners of this year’s competition were Tim Stolle and Maximilian Schmieder. Their winning idea was Kiezbeats.de -- a website with current information on dance clubs. Robert Brogsitter and Vanessa Dahlke came in second with “Abendrot Erleben” – a model for providing non-medical assistance to elderly clients in their own homes. Ahum Yilmaz was the third place winner. Her plan focused on a shop for high quality dresses at low rental or second-hand prices.
