Known as the “smallest town in the world,” Hum is located on a slope near the river Mirna. It is enclosed by walls, towers and gates dating from around 1562. Near the town gates stands this Romanesque-Gothic bell tower. The chapel of St. Jeronim at the cemetery outside of town dates to the 12th century. Along the road from Hum to Roč are eleven monuments forming the 'Glagolitic Road', in honor of Croatian Glagolitic scholars.
