Motovun is a hilltop town 277 meters above sea level. The area produces high quality wines. Motovun developed as an ancient citadel, and the town center is enclosed by a wall from the 13th century. The main square features a 13th century bell tower and St. Stjepan's, a Renaissance church built in the early 17th century.
