Dried blot spot (DBS) specimens collected for quality control testing in an HIV sentinel survey. In 2003, CDC introduced the use of DBS in Cambodia to validate results of HIV rapid tests performed in the field for surveys and enrolled the National Institute of Public Health Laboratory in CDC Atlanta’s DBS external quality assurance program.
